Stage Fright

by Mark Sandman

Yes, I admit it.  I’ve been performing since Moby Dick was a minnow and I still get stage fright sometimes.  I don’t know anyone who doesn’t.  I never know when or why it happens.

The best solution I’ve found for stage fright, as well as for any anxiety-inducing situation (except driving) is to simply close my eyes and focus on breathing.

I recently came across an excellent article titled: “Stage Fright!  Overcoming Music Performance Anxiety” by Michael Gallant.  Here’s the link:

It’s located on DiskMaker’s blog page, Echoes.  You will also find other blog posts, articles, and guides related to home recording, performing and promoting your music.  It’s a good online resource to know about.
